SHOW Releases Gulf Coast Information

Editor's Note: The following report from the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show was completed by SHOW DQP Coordinator, Andy Messick.
There were 273 horses inspected at the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show in Pananma City Beach, Florida on April 22-25, 2009. There were 191 padded Tennessee Walking Horses, 44 flat shod Tennessee Walking Horses, 8 flat shod racking horses and 30 other gaited breeds.
As a result of those inspections there were twenty-four (24) tickets issued by SHOW HIO DQP's for a total of twenty-five violations (25) violations.
There were four tickets issued on April 22, 2009 with four violations:
1. scar rule/pre-show.
2. unilateral sore/pre-show.
3. heavy chain/post show.
4. scar rule/post show.
There was five cases referred for conflict resolution on April 22, 2009:
1. Referral on a post show second place horse for unilateral sore with no ticket issued by SHOW.
2. Referral on a pre-show horse for scar rule and bilateral sore with no ticket issued by SHOW.
3. Referral on a post show horse for scar rule and heavy chain with SHOW issuing a ticket for heavy chain only.
4. Referral on a post show horse for unilateral sore with no ticket issued by SHOW.
5. Referral on a pre-show horse for unilateral and scar rule with SHOW issuing a ticket for unilateral sore only.
There were five tickets issued on April 23, 2009 with five violations:
1. scar rule/pre-show.
2. scar rule/pre-show.
3. scar rule/pre-show.
4. unilateral sore/pre-show.
5. unilateral sore/pre-show.
There were two cases referred for conflict resolution on April 23, 2009:
1. Referral on a post show horse for scar rule with no ticket issued by SHOW.
2. Referral on a pre-show horse for bilateral sore with SHOW issuing a ticket for unilateral sore.
There were ten tickets issued on April 24, 2009 with eleven violations:
1. scar rule and foreign substance/pre-show.
2. scar rule/pre-show.
3. scar rule/pre-show.
4. scar rule/pre-show.
5. illegal shoeing/pre-show.
6. unilateral sore/pre-show.
7. foreign substance/pre-show.
8. scar rule/post show.
9. low chain/post show.
10. scar rule/post show.
There were no cases referred for conflict resolution on April 24, 2009.
There were five tickets written on April 25, 2009 with five violations:
1. scar rule/pre-show.
2. scar rule/pre-show.
3. unilateral sore/pre-show.
4. unilateral sore/pre-show.
5. scar rule/post show.
There were two cases referred for conflict resolution on April 25, 2009:
1. Referral on a post show horse for scar rule with no ticket issued by SHOW.
2. Referral on a pre-show horse for bilateral sore with no ticket issued by SHOW.
