The 35th Annual Celebration Spring Fun Show will become three shows within a show following a major re-shuffling of the class schedule. The 2005 Fun Show will have three nights, with each showcasing a different area of the breed.

“The Fun Show has been status-quo for several years, showing modest increases or decreases in entries and attendance, depending on the year” said Celebration CEO and show manager Ron Thomas. “Working with the staff and the board, we felt like it was time to overhaul the schedule and do something a little different.”

The new schedule will feature all pleasure and halter division classes on Thursday night, all amateur classes on Friday night, and all professional classes on Saturday night. In addition, a Fine Harness class (trainers) will be added to the schedule as well as Limited Performance classes for both lady and gentleman riders. Other additions include an open class for mares, stallions, and geldings for the professional trainers on Saturday night and a class for Owner-Amateur Riders on Walking Ponies.

“We get a lot of feedback from owners, exhibitors, trainers, and fans,” Thomas continued. “We look at that information each year and try to come up with classes and an overall schedule that will be appealing.”

“Limited Performance classes were held at several shows during the 2004 season and the number of entries has been good. While these classes have not been added to The Celebration schedule yet, their addition to the Fun Show schedule is a direct result of the feedback we’ve gotten.”

Thomas went on to say that several trainers were consulted on the overall schedule concept and the responses were very positive.

“The trainers in our industry do a magnificent job presenting sound, well-trained, well-maintained animals at our horse shows. We wanted to make sure that such a significant change in the schedule would not put an undue burden on them.”
