CELINA, Tenn. - The 45th annual Celina Lion’s Club Walking Horse Show was held at the Clay County Recreation Park in the quaint and scenic town of Celina, Tenn., also known as the gateway to beautiful Dale Hollow Lake. The 2008 edition of the show was dedicated to the memory of Roy Burnette, a loyal and dedicated member of the Celina Lion’s Club for 28 years. The Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes in their local and world communities. By conducting service projects and raising funds, Lions strive to help those in need. The Lion’s motto is “We serve.”

Bob Burris judged the 90 entries spread out over 23 classes. The Celina audience saw trainer Sonny Holt direct the flashy Stretch Armstrong to the Walking Horse Stake Championship for Cass Services of New Orleans, La. Picking up the reserve streamer was trainer Scott Beaty aboard the high headed Major Starbuck for proud new owners Tony and Tina Gibbson of Glasgow, Ky. Rounding out the third slot was trainer J.B. Buchanan and his talented Pride Of Willie for Carl Smith of Hillham, Tenn.
