LEXINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Celebration Horse Show is back and better than ever. The Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Va., was the place to be on June 13-14 to view the best of the best of the walking horse breed. Show Manager Richard Lloyd was well pleased with horses coming from eight surrounding states. Dickie Scrivner from Murfreesboro, Tenn., had the tough job of judging the two-night show and selecting the best for the honors.

Several of the classes had many top competitors vying for the top honors, but it was the anticipation of the Walking Horse Stake class that had everyone waiting Saturday night. Five contenders entered the ring, but it was the team of Jose’s Sweet Pepper and Sam McLaughlin who were called from the line up for The Stables at Alpha Place. Second place honors went to Jeff Hatcher and Godfather By Ultra Copy who traveled all the way from Shelbyville, Tenn., to compete for owner Dr. Morna Conway.
