Tennessee Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Haslam visited the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration on Monday March 29, 2010. Haslam took a ride on a Tennessee Walking Horse and spoke to the impact of the Walking Horse Industry on the economy of the state of Tennessee.

Knoxville Mayor and Tennessee Gubernatorial candidate Bill Haslam visited the historic Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration Grounds Monday, March 29, 2010. Mayor Haslam spoke with visitors and took a ride on a Tennessee Walking Horse.

Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ (TWHBEA) Executive Director Stan Butt presented Mayor Haslam with a cap and vest from the official breed registry. Haslam acknowledged the major impact of the Tennessee Walking Horse on the tourism industry of Tennessee as well as the overall impact on the economy of the state.
 
Mayor Haslam visited the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration last August and has vowed his dedication to preserving and improving the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.
