Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association Improves

TWHBEA closed the calendar year with 6,568 members, registered 3,178 new foals and transferred 4,444 horses between owners.  Of the top ten breeds in America, the Tennessee Walking Horse maintained an easy gaited glide into the top reporting positions of American breeds.  The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association increased memberships by 11.1% in 2015, increased registrations by 12.5% making it number one and number two in those categories, respectively.  Transfer revenue increased year over year in 2015 by 6.6%.

The statistics reported for end of year 2015 show increases in registrations and memberships for the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association, one of only two breeds to do so.  As reported to both Zane Akins of the National Pedigreed Livestock Council (NPLC) and to Debbie Fuentes of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), transfers earned more money than 2014, registrations and memberships were both up in number and in money earned over 2014, and the leaders of the Association intend to continue that trend into the short and long-term future.

The [Tennessee Walking Horse] breed is known for its’ gentle disposition, versatility in both work and show, comfortable ride and intelligence.  Breeders and exhibitors alike recognize the value and viability of the Tennessee Walking Horse and the registry which supports it more than any other.  Coming on the heels of the announcement for “Project Pegasus,” which has a goal of developing irrefutable, science-based, objective testing for compliance during pre-show inspections, TWHBEA once again reinforces its’ position as the leader in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry of equine sports and animal agriculture
