The Tennessee Walking Horse industry will lose one of its most tireless workers at the end of the 2022 show season. Walking Horse Owners’ Association Executive Director Tommy Hall recently told his board of directors that 2022 will be his last year serving in that capacity.

Hall joined WHOA in 1979 and has served as Executive Director since 1981. Hall has served tirelessly in his roles with WHOA and has been involved with Tennessee Walking Horses since 1968. Most recently, Hall has transformed WHOA into one of the largest show management organizations in the business conducting more horse shows than any single entity in the industry.

“Tommy has been a prominent figure in the Walking Horse industry ever since I can remember. He has supported all facets of the breed and was at the helm at WHOA when the organization was forced to transform how it operated. He successfully guided them through that transition and I am sure he will be sorely missed by WHOA but also the industry at large,” said Walking Horse Report Publisher Jeffrey Howard.

The Walking Horse Report intends to do an in-depth feature on Hall and his service to the breed during the upcoming Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
