LEWISBURG, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) applauds the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration (TWHNC) for implementing the suggestions of three world renowned equine veterinarians in its efforts to objectively ensure the welfare of all horses entered into this year’s Celebration.

Recently, the TWHNC announced a three-member Veterinary Advisory Committee (VAC) comprised of Jerry H. Johnson, D.V. M., Dallas O. Goble, D.V.M., and Phillip D. Hammock, D.V.M. (Abbreviated bios attached). The panel is above and beyond all requirements of the Horse Protection Act. This bold move sends a message to the world that the Celebration is serious about the welfare of the Tennessee Walking Horse.

TWHBEA supports the Celebration’s implementation of the panel’s recommendations and will utilize those same protocols at the 76th Annual TWHBEA National Futurity on August 20. The only exception for Futurity entries will be the 48-hour stabling on the grounds requirement. All other protocols will apply and can be found at www.celebrationvac.com.
