The Committee is seeking officer candidates to be considered for nominations for the 2016 term (December 1, 2015 until November 30, 2016). The following Executive Committee positions will be up for election: President, Senior Vice President, Vice President at Large, Youth and Vice President at Large, Bylaws/Enforcement. The following divisions will be also be electing: VP of Admin, Fiscal/Audit; VP of the Breeders which will include the Futurity; VP of Marketing; VP of Owners/Exhibitors/International; VP of the Performance Show Horse which will include all shows with the exception of the Futurity and World Versatility Show; VP of the Pleasure Horse which includes the World Versatility Show; and VP of Training/Welfare. Excluding the president and senior vice president offices, the greatest responsibility is chairing the committee for the division in which you are elected. We are looking for a blend of new and experienced executive committee members. We are also seeking a geographical balance of representation on our nominating slate. We hope to have a mix of breeders, show horse owners (performance, plantation, halter) and pleasure riders with a variety of business backgrounds in order to assure our membership that the Executive Committee is competent to address all aspects of TWHBEA business.
Our decisions will be based on the written information furnished by prospective candidates. If you would like to submit a letter of recommendation for any prospective candidate, please send it to the address shown above. We want to be objective and give all prospective candidates equal consideration. For this reason, our slate of nominations will be based on the written documentation that we receive from directors. We urge each director to consider the time and financial commitment involved in contributing to the monthly executive committee meetings, divisional and other committee meetings, and the planning and follow up work required to be an effective leader.
