Clarification Of Rules For Celebration Country Pleasure Classes

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Effective January 1, 2008 NHSC (now SHOW) initiated several rule modifications and further clarifications of Country Pleasure. The modifications listed several features, general class descriptions, as well as shoeing and equipment needs.  Page 7 of the "SHOW Rule Book Addendum" states that Country Pleasure horses will wear Keg (factory-stamped) shoes - 3/8" x 3/4" maximum.  Additionally page 6 of the 2009 SHOW Rule Book Addendum" states, "A maximum weight limit of 2lbs is set for the Lite Shod, Trail Pleasure or Country Pleasure Shoe.  The weight of the shoe will be checked if a shoe should be thrown at any time the horse is in the ring.  Upon such occurrence the shoe shall be retrieved by the Judge or Ringmaster, and weighed by the Judge in center ring.  Should the weight of the shoe be found to be over the 2lb limit, a $2,000 fine and a two week suspension will be assessed.  Once the horse enters the ring it is considered a post show violation".
