Want to play golf during horse show?

Eight spots are available on the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration’s 5th annual golf tournament, which kicks off at 9 a.m. Sunday Aug. 27.
The day starts off with breakfast, followed by the shotgun start at 9 a.m. at River Bend Country Club. Lunch and beverages are included in the tournament price, which is $80. Three flights of winners as well as awards for the following will be awarded: Closest to the pin, straightest drive, and largest drive.
Winners of the tournament will appear on the jumbotron during the Celebration. For more information contact Karen Inman at 205-235-1126.

Both novice classes at The Spring Fun Show will be based on the same novice criteria as The Celebration. This means to qualify to show in these classes neither the horse nor rider can previously have won at The Celebration.

The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration recently hired Travis Emore to be the Director of Arena Operations and Events. Emore will directly oversee the operations of Cooper Steel Arena, as well as also function as a member of the senior leadership team at The Celebration. Emore comes to The Celebration from Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro.

President Bill Young is pleased to announce the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association office relocation to the historic Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration grounds has been completed. The new WHTA office is in the old Gift Shop building which has been home to Shane Shiflet Photography during the Celebration for the past several years.
