On September 2, 2006 during the cancellation of the World Grand Champion class five out of the eight horses were turned down at DQP inspection, I’m Billy The Kid, I’m Unarmed, Master Of Jazz, NYPD, and Private Charter. Out of those five, two appealed their case, and three took their suspension.

I’m Billy The Kid and I’m Unarmed both received and took a two week scar rule suspension. "It was not cost effective" stated Russ Thompson. "We did not appeal the case" said Jason Hughes

NYPD took an eight month suspension that started in October.

Private Charter and Master of Jazz both decided to appeal their cases and both won 5-0 according to owners Mike Walden and Lee Wall.
