The Unified Horse Show Development Program (UHDP) is pleased to announce it will provide financial aid to the Mississippi Walking Horse Association Spring Classic. The Mississippi Walking Horse Association Spring Classic horse show will be held at the Marshall County Agri-Center in Holly Springs, MS on April 21, 2012.  The financial aid to the MWHA will be in the form of a grant from UHDP, an arm of the Foundation for the Advancement and Support of the Tennessee Walking Show Horse (FAST).

The Mississippi Walking Horse Association Spring Classic will be the first show of 2012 to receive financial aid from UHDP, continuing the work of UHDP in 2011, its inaugural year.  This is a new show with a full slate of classes to showcase Tennessee Walking Horses in all disciplines.  “UHDP looks forward to assisting shows and activities that promote the Tennessee Walking show horse in 2012,” said UHDP Chairperson Diana McMurtrey.

If anyone would like to offer assistance to the Mississippi Walking Horse Association Spring Classic  or provide sponsorships please contact Joy Smith at [email protected].

The UHDP was formed to assist new horse show development as well as help existing shows that need financial aid.  The group will also seek to revitalize previous Walking Horse venues and help with walking horse events across the nation.  The UHDP will focus its aid to horse shows primarily outside of the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.   Horse events and shows will have to apply to the UHDP for financial aid.  Applications can be found at www.fastwalkingshowhorse.org.

The program also includes a mentoring program.  UHDP will offer mentoring services to groups that request help with organizing their shows and putting together events.  The UHDP and FAST proudly promote all show disciplines of the Tennessee Walking Horse.  For more information on how to donate to UHDP visit FAST online or contact Diana McMurtrey at [email protected]
