Copyright 2005-The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association Executive Committee met this morning in Lewisburg, Tenn., and immediately went into executive session. The editorial director of the Walking Horse Report was excused along with TWHBEA Executive Director Charles Hulsey.

The reported purpose of the meeting was to discuss the future participation of the TWHBEA in the National Horse Show Commission. The NHSC contract expires this year and the three organizations participating in the Commission -- TWHBEA, Walking Horse Trainers’ Association and the Walking Horse Owners’ Association -- are currently working on some potential changes in the program.

It is difficult to understand why Hulsey would be excused from such an important discussion but rumors have been widespread in recent days and weeks that his position was in serious jeopardy. He was reportedly one vote from being terminated earlier this year and new revelations in recent days are said to be very troublesome.

UPDATE:  The Report received a phone call at approximately 2:08 this afternoon from TWHBEA President Jerrold Pedigo stating that the only item on today's agenda was the Commission and there would be no consideration or discussion of any other matters, including Charles Hulsey.

Also, he reported the only people remaining for the executive session were executive committee members and Craig Evans, an advisor to the committee.
