Dr. Chester Gipson confirmed with the Walking Horse Report today that the position currently held by Dr. Todd Behre will not be filled by the time of Dr. Behre’s departure at the end of January. Dr. Behre resigned from his current post as the USDA APHIS Horse Protection Coordinator last week.
Dr. Gipson said it is impossible to fill the position before Behre’s departure because of the required application process which includes a mandatory 30 day advertising period. Additionally, the person filling Dr. Behre's position will be required to relocate to the Washington area.
