BOLIVAR, Mo. -  The annual Independence weekend shows in southwest Missouri were held July 2nd and July 4th at the Bolivar Saddle Club Arena in Bolivar. There was hot competition among Missouri and Arkansas exhibitors both nights.

The Southwest Missouri Horse Show Association (SWMHSA) held its summer show at Bolivar on July 2, 2011. Troy Maples and Gary Jennings were randomly selected to judge each class. This show was affiliated for points with HAWHA and SWMHSA. The concession stand helped raise funds for the local Morrisville Fire and Rescue Department. In the final Walking Horse Open class, Victory Colors with Brad Huffman in the irons, took the victory lap for owner Donna Huffman. PJ’s Pusher was reserve with Josh Richardson in the irons for owner Dean Scott. 

The second show of the Independence Day weekend in Missouri was sponsored by the Bolivar Saddle Club of Bolivar, Mo.,with both fox trotter and walking horse classes. Steve Rees called the classes. Steve Buus was master of ceremonies. This show was affiliated for points with HAWHA.  In the final late night Walking Horse Open class, Jose’s Strider with Margaret Manes-Hickman took top honors for owner 4-J Land and Cattle Co. of Waynesville, Mo. Victory Colors was reserve with Brad Huffman in the irons for owner Donna Huffman of Ozark, Mo. 


Friends and family congratulate trainer/rider Margaret Manes-Hickman and Jose’s Strider after their winning ride in the Annual 4th of July Bolivar Saddle Club Horse Show.  Jose’s Strider is owned by 4-J Land and Cattle Co. of Waynesville, Mo.   


Lisa Campbell is undefeated in her two last weekend appearances in the Juvenile Walking Horse class aboard Copy’s Golden Boy for owner Mrs. Glen Campbell. One win was at the MWHTA show and the other at the SWMHSA Summer Show. She celebrated her win with members of her family.


Fame’s Mama Mia is famous in the Three-Year-Old Class  Independence Day winner’s circle at the annual Bolivar Saddle Club show with Tamee LeNeve Heiman in the irons for the Don LeNeve family. This winning team celebrated another win just the previous week at the MWHTA show in Nixa, Mo. 


California Dreamin’ isn’t dreaming as he returned to the winner’s circle once again in two weeks, this time with Josh Richardson in the irons in the Four-Year-Old Open Class at the SWMHSA July 2nd for owner Jon Trimble. California Dreamin’ made another winning performance at the MWHTA at Nixa with owner Jon Trimble in the irons just the weekend before. 


Generator’s Mighty Dollar makes two successful blue ribbon rides at the SWMHSA Summer Show July 2nd -  one win in the Park Pleasure 2-gait class with Brad Huffman in the irons, and then another win later in the evening in the Western Park Pleasure class with Casey Barclay for owner Donna Huffman.
