WHOA Endorses National Horse Protection Society
Tuesday, May 30, 2006
The Walking Horse Owners' Association (WHOA) Board of Directors have unanimously endorsed the mission statement of the National Horse Protection Society (NHPS). This action came at their May 25th meeting in Murfreesboro after the group heard from Tom Blankenship, spokesperson for the NHPS. During his presentation, which lasted almost two hours, Blankenship gave the WHOA Board an overview of the NHPS and fielded many questions that board members had about the Society.
"As I've said several times, we should always be trying to do better in all aspects of our association and our industry," commented David Pruett, WHOA president. "The NHPS has some fresh and innovative ideas that I feel will be beneficial to us all."
WHOA has now become the fifth group to endorse the NHPS. They join the National Horse Show Commission, the Walking Horse Trainers' Association, the Kentucky Walking Horse Association, and the Celebration.
