The Walking Horse Owners Association Board of Directors has made the following revisions and clarifications to the 2017 WHOA Rulebook:
 
1. All youth, 11 and Under, must wear ASTM-SEI approved headgear (helmets) in all riding classes.  This is a safety requirement.
 
2. Youth that show in a specified "11 and Under" Class may ride with two hands with English or Western tack.
 
3. "Youth, 11 and under,that show in a youth class specified "17 and Under" must use one hand in Trail, Lite- Shod and Classic Park Western classes.  Exception: If the horse is a "Junior Horse (5 years and under)", then it would follow the qualifications with a snaffle bit.
 
4. All showmanship classes are youth or amateur only.
