WHR Scholarship Deadline Aug. 1
Wednesday, June 17, 2009
The deadline for applicants seeking the Walking Horse Report Youth Scholarship is Aug. 1, 2009. The Walking Horse Report’s Amateur Juvenile issue raised $2,500 to be awarded this year to multiple recipients seeking financial aid toward their collegiate degree. The applicant must be a high school graduate and not over 21 years of age. Applicants from previous years may re-apply.
Last year, the Walking Horse Report gave four recipients $1,000 scholarships and also donated $1,250 to help the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) with its scholarship fund which was in need of donations. Last year’s recipients were Jimmy Civils, Samantha Green, Sarah Rowland and Christiana Turner. Blake Everett was the recipient of the fifth scholarship that was in conjunction with TWHBEA.
The Report encourages the youth in the industry to get their applications in for consideration. Applications can be obtained at the office of the Walking Horse Report, monthly in the Walking Horse Report or by emailing engel@horseworld.net.
