FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Walking Horse Trainers’ Auxiliary met on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Cool Springs Marriott in conjunction with the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association Convention.

Members discussed plans for 2019. The Money Tree Classic will once again be held during the 4th of July Weekend. A large topic of discussion was participation and projects that members can do to meet their eligibility requirements. A committee was formed and will meet after the holidays to follow thru with plans for the upcoming season.

Once again, the Auxiliary is thrilled to grant scholarships to therapeutic riding programs that use Tennessee Walking Horses. A total of $7,000 will be awarded to six different programs. The Auxiliary has been supporting some of these programs for more than 20 years.

Officers for 2019 were elected by unanimous decision of the membership; President: Sarah Smith, First Vice-President: Susan Coleman, Second Vice-President: Jennifer Barr, Secretary: Heather Beard, Treasurer: Allison Becknell.

As always, the Auxiliary is proud to be a supporter of the industry, its trainers and the community.
