Representatives from the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association (WHTA) met with members of the veterinarian and farrier community on November 26-27, 2012 in Shelbyville, Tenn.  Jamie Hankins, Mickey McCormick, Link Webb and Winky Groover hosted the guests at Saddlecrest Farms.  In attendance were Dr. Steve O’Grady, Dr. Tracy Turner, Dr. Scott Hopper and Jeff Ridley.

During the two day session, ideas were exchanged regarding the performance Tennessee Walking Horse and both sides gained a better understanding and agreed to work further together.  “We were very thankful for the time of these respected individuals and appreciate greatly their willingness to exchange ideas with us about our horse.  This is the first step in a long process but one we are committed to seeing through to the end,” said President Hankins.

Farriers and veterinarians from the industry also participated in the clinic portion of the two-day session.
