WHTA Supports One Industry Voice
Friday, October 19, 2012
The Walking Horse Trainers’ Association board of directors recently attended an industry presentation by the Tennessee Walking Show Horse Organization (TWSHO). The WHTA feels strongly that a consistent voice with regards to industry support of the show horse is needed and supports the initial phase of the concept presented by TWSHO.
“The Walking Horse Trainers Association and its members feel strongly that a unified voice with regards to the challenges facing the industry is paramount to the future of the show horse,” said President Jamie Hankins. “We continue to seek additional ways to protect our show horse and the profession of our members and will continue to support efforts that achieve those goals.”
After the TWSHO meeting on October 15, 2012 the WHTA board of directors met and voted unanimously to support a motion that read, “we (WHTA) support one voice and agree to work towards a standardized rulebook and a uniform inspection program.”
The WHTA has a strong history of supporting additional self-regulation and compliance from its members with the HPA.
