2009 World Versatility Show To Feature Four Versatility Sweepstakes Classes
Lewisburg, TN – In a meeting held June 8, 2009, the decision was made to include four sweepstakes classes in the 2009 World Versatility Show. These four classes, Trail Obstacle Adult, Basic Reining, Western Riding and Dressage Training Level (Canter), will pay out a minimum jackpot of $500 in each class. These classes will run concurrently with the corresponding World Versatility Show classes. The entry fee for the sweepstakes classes will be $50 per class. Requirements for participation in these sweepstakes classes include an adult exhibitor that is a member of TWHBEA and a TWHBEA registered Tennessee Walking Horse.
The ultimate plan is to have these sweepstakes classes form the foundation for a Versatility Futurity, which will be introduced in 2010. This futurity will be progressive and include age appropriate disciplines for two, three, four and five year olds with opportunities for amateur and professional exhibitors. Further details regarding this new Futurity will be released at the 2009 World Versatility Show.
Special thanks to Dr. Dave Whitaker of Middle Tennessee State University for his generous collaboration on this year’s sweepstakes classes and the upcoming Versatility Futurity.
