Each year since 1993 The Walking Horse Report has dedicated the Year In Walking Horses book to deserving individuals. For 2005 the categories remain the same as the year before; owner, trainer, performance horse, pleasure horse, juvenile, stallion and a person from an industry within.

The 2005 dedicated owners are Bob and Mary Medina. This strong couple have been avid supporters of the Tennessee Walking Horse in every avenue of the sport.

The trainer honoree is Allan Callaway. He has been a World Grand Championship rider and trainer, the trainer of the year, and an exemplary father and husband for many years.

Your Four-Year-Old World Grand Champion Jose’s Intimidator is the performance horse inductee. Jose’s Intimidator also captured the roses the year before and was completely unanimous throughout the 2005 season. Trainer Jamie Bradshaw has guided this talented stallion to all of his success.

Bob Lawrence’s own Jazz All Night received the pleasure division dedication of the Year In Walking Horses. Jazz All Night captured the Amateur Park Pleasure World Grand Championship along with five other impressive wins this season.

The sister act Maria and Erica Derickson were chosen to be the 2005 Year In Walking Horses honored juveniles. This duo has been active in virtually every youth class offered from 11 and under to equitation to the highly competitive Youth Medallion division.

For the stallion dedication Sweepstakes could not be denied. This impressive stallion not only did well in the show ring, but is now watching his stars light up the show ring. Sweepstakes has champions winning in every division.

Finally, our industry within inductee is Marcia Allison of the Walking Horse Trainers Association. Allison can be seen on the sidelines of many large horse shows going above and beyond the call of duty.

During the 2006 National Trainers Show in March there will a presentation every night honoring these very special people and horses.

Be sure to check out all these special people and horses in the 2005 Year In Walking Horses book. The book will be available during the 2006 National Trainers Show at World Champion Horse Equipment.
