2024 Nominations for WHOA Board of Directors

The Nominating Committee of the Walking Horse Owners’ Association has nominated the following people for the 2024 Board of Directors for a 3-year term.
Directors:
Kyle Elliott – Tennessee Justin Miller - Tennessee
Jared Carrier – Tennessee Peggy Moore – Tennessee
Darden Gladney – Louisiana Sherrie Szucs – Ohio
Dennis Hills – Missouri Lynn Womack – Tennessee
The Nominating Committee has nominated for President

Any candidate for the WHOA Board of Directors must have been in good standing for the prior two years. Anyone wishing his or her name declared as a candidate will need to notify the Walking Horse Owners’ Association office no later than December 1, 2023. According to the By-Laws, Article III, Section 1, stating “anyone desiring to be a candidate shall give notice by registered mail, electronic mail, or fax to the Association of his or her intent to run for a directorship.”
This notice must reach our office no later than December 1, 2023.
According to the By-Laws, Article IV, Section 2, stating, “The President shall be elected by total popular vote by the majority of the members for voting. Any candidate for President must have been a member in good standing and must have served on the Board of Directors for the past two years immediately prior to the election. In order to be a candidate for President, other than being nominated by the Nominating Committee, a person must be nominated by a member in good standing of this association. Said nomination, together with a written statement by the nominee agreeing to said nomination, must be reported to the association no later than December 1, 2023.
These nominations must reach our office no later than December 1, 2023

The TWHBEA International Board of Directors has elected the Executive Committee members who will serve the association in the coming year. All were elected to two-year terms except Amanda Wright and David Williams, who each have one year left in their Board terms and are ineligible to run again due to term limits.

The Walking Horse Owners’ Association has released its holiday schedule. WHOA will be closed from December 19 through January 4. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, January 5.

The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association has announced its holiday schedule. TWHBEA will be closed from December 24 through January 1 and will reopen on January 2. Members are encouraged to plan ahead for any year-end paperwork or registry needs.

Judith Wiser Martin, known to all as Judy, passed away peacefully at her home in Shelbyville, Tennessee, on November 14, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born in Shelbyville to the late Winston and Katherine Wiser and lived her entire life in the community she loved.

On November 24, 2025, Linda Gayle Cagle of Lexington Tn passed away in Parsons, Tn.Born November 9th, 1939 to Charlie and Frances Reed , chose her early career as an elementary teacher .Her career as a teacher was at Paul G Caywood Elementary school, where she was a first grade and later a 3rd grade teacher until 1995.
