The Report has recently learned of the passing of two-time reserve world champion Walkin’ Dollar due to complications with colic. The beautiful roan gelding was 10 years old and owned and loved by the Bertram Family of Glasgow, Kentucky.

“Dollar” carried himself around the ring very proudly at many shows throughout his career, claiming 25 victories along with two reserve world championships at the Celebration. He was started by Justin Jenne’ and Rico Bravo as a two-year-old and was owned at that time by Sabrina Young of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

In 2014, the Bertram family, in search for their ultimate horse, purchased him from Chad Adams. In both, 2015 and 2016, Sherry Bonner rode him to reserve world championship honors in the Novice Mares & Geldings Lady Rider class under the direction of Brooks Stables of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Showing eight times this year as a very competitive entry in all show circuits, Dollar was a crowd favorite and was always ready for the show ring.

The Bertram family and everyone at Scotty Brooks Stables will remember him always as he will deeply missed.
