The “Pick Your Partner” concept has quickly become one of the most fun and engaging ways to raise money for the industry’s legal fund, bringing together riders, trainers, and fans in a unique and spirited competition. This year, the West Virginia Summer Classic will introduce its first-ever Pick Your Partner class, adding an exciting new element to the show while supporting an important cause. The event will be held this weekend, June 19–20.
The Pick Your Partner Pleasure class will take place Saturday evening as Class 64A, just prior to the intermission. The class is open to teams of two riders, which may include youth, amateurs, and trainers in any combination. One partner will ride the first way of the class, and the other partner will complete the second way. Entries for the class will close at Noon on Saturday, June 20, and must be completed in the show office along with regular entries. Teams are encouraged to enter early to maximize their fundraising efforts.
Once entered, each team will receive a personalized fundraising page. Participants should be sure to provide their email address and cell phone number at entry so their fundraising link can be shared. Teams can then distribute their page to friends, family, and supporters to raise funds for the industry legal fund. Much like a walk-a-thon, the class combines competition and fundraising. Judges will determine the winners in the ring, while fans can support their favorite teams through donations, helping create an additional level of excitement and engagement.
The West Virginia Summer Classic invites everyone to participate, cheer on the teams, and contribute to strengthening the legal defense that supports the future of the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.
