FRANKLIN, Tenn.— The Walking Horse Trainers’ Auxiliary has their annual December meeting in conjunction with the W.H.T.A. and Breeders’ Banquets and Conventions.
President Joyce Marie Green went over the 2009 projects and made plans for them in 2010. Among those projects, the most successful one is the Money Tree Classic horse show. It was during the Fourth of July weekend in 2009 and that is also the plan for next year. It had the most entries of all the shows that busy weekend.
A rewarding project that the auxiliary puts on is the Walking Horses Overcoming Obstacles. Freda Dean, the chairperson, works hard each year and it is something she is passionate about. They give money to handicapped riding programs in order to help children. This year they are giving $1,000 to seven different programs.
Following project reports, a new slate was selected as board members for the new year. President will be Sarah Smith, 1st Vice President is Joyce Marie Green, 2nd Vice President is Amy Trimble, Marguerite Sims is Secretary and Heather Beard as Treasurer.
