FLORENCE, S.C. - The city of Florence, S.C., known as a “City of Character”, once again played host to the Florence Charity Horse Show, April 17-18. Newton Parks of Murfreesboro, Tenn., made the trip to judge the 45-class event affiliated with the South Carolina Walking Horse Association, North Carolina Walking Horse Association and the new SHOW HIO.

Once again, it was the pair of Royal Luck and Chad Baucom who exhibited the grand performance to capture the Walking Horse Championship honors for Corbin Mills of Mt. Airy, N.C. Two weeks earlier, this pair also captured the Walking Horse Championship at the North Carolina Walking Horse Association Spring Show. Adding blue ribbon number four to Royal Luck’s flawless 2009 season record was Clay Mills in the Amateur Men’s Specialty class.

Another hot team at the show was Acapulco and Amanda Dickerson of Sunset Farms who were called to the winner’s circle on three separate occasions. They topped the Lite-Shod Western Open Specialty, Lite-Shod English Open Specialty and the Lite-Shod Specialty Grand Championship, proving they really are a prime lite-shod team.
