Buckeye High Point Awards Banquet
Friday, January 23, 2009
CANFIELD, Ohio - Capably organized by Club Vice President Laura Lindberg, the Buckeye Walking Horse Association High Point Awards Banquet was held on Jan. 10, 2009, at A La Carte Catering in Canfield, Ohio. A crowd of 60 members and friends braved a heavy snowstorm that left between 10-18 inches of snow on the ground throughout Northern Ohio to participate in the live auction and collect their awards.
President Bruce Vaughn called the night to order and introduced the officers for 2009: President Bruce Vaughn, Vice President Laura Lindberg, Secretary Georgia Thomas, Treasurer Julia Ault and Board Members Rich Burnett Sr., Lorraine Meyer, Bill Harvey, Tammy Sanderson, Kathy Waltz, Gail Perry, Paul Szucs, and Janet Teichman.
Following an excellent buffet dinner, emcee Paul Szucs announced the awards and High Point Secretary Jo Ann Dowell greeted the winners. Following the awards presentation, a collection of 150 items was auctioned off to raise money for club activities.
