ANDALUSIA, Ala. – The fifth annual South Alabama Charity Horse Show made changes from the 2008 event. Last year’s show was a three-day event held in the spring, and this year the schedule lasted two days in the fall.

Many top-notch trainers and exhibitors made the drive from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama to earn the title of South Alabama Champion. Newton Parks marked the cards for this year’s show, which offered eight Riders’ Cup classes for those trainers chasing end of the year points.

Bud Dunn & Sons Stables proved that hard work pays off with their nine wins earned by José Calienté, I’m A Lipstick Lady, Pzazz Marks, Escape From Alcatraz, FDR, She’s One Hot Tamale and Stake Champion Jazz Country.

Carl Edwards & Son Stables came in as a close reserve with eight titles, and Joe Cotten Stables rounded out the top three position with five blues.
