(SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - November 2002) - Officials at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration announces changes for the 2003 show schedule.
SPRING FUN SHOW
May 22-24
•Eliminated Grooms on Walking Horses (only three entries in 2002)
•Eliminated Park Pleasure Walking Horses, Amateur Riders (Canter) - (only one entry in 2002)
•Changed the age groups for the youth classes:
1. Owner-Amateur Youth Riders 14 & Under on Walking Mares or Geldings
2. Owner-Amateur Youth Riders 15-17 on Walking Mares or Geldings
•Combined the Show Pleasure Amateur classes into one class:
Show Pleasure Walking Horses, Amateur Riders
TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE NATIONAL CELEBRATION
August 20-30
•Moved Plantation Pleasure Walking Horses, Four-Years-Old, Lite-Shod (Canter) to a morning session
•The Owner-Amateur Geldings and the Owner-Amateur Mares were combined into Owner-Amateur Riders on Walking Mares & Geldings - (due to low entries in recent years)
•Moved Owner-Amateur Riders on Walking Stallions, 15.2 & Under to the first thursday evening - (It was on a Tuesday evening in 2002 but conflicted with the open class on Monday evening. This change allows both the trainer and the amateur to show the same horse.
