The Celebration board taps Crowell





David Crowell is a new board member of The Celebration.

The Shelbyville native is general manager of Shelbyville Power, Water & Sewerage System. He graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 1979 and from Middle Tennessee State University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in accounting.

He started working at the utility company in 1986 as office manager, was appointed assistant manager in 1998 and general manager on May 4, 2001. Crowell is a former board member of the Tennessee Municipal Electric Power Association; member and past president of the Central District Managers Association; member and past president of Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association; current board member of Central Service Association; member and past president of the Joint Economic Development Board; a former board member of the Chamber of Commerce; current chairman of the Tennessee Valley Authority/Power Distributors Scholarship Committee; and current chairman of the Shelbyville Industrial Development Board. He is a member of First Baptist Church.

The Celebration's board members are: David L. Howard, chairman; John T Bobo, treasurer; Pat Marsh, vice chairman; Charles McDonald, director; Jim Allison, secretary; Rick Insell, director and David Crowell, director.
