The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tenn., is conducting a search for a Chief Executive Officer.

Position Announcement – Chief Executive Officer
Job Title: Chief Executive Officer – Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration
Function: To advise and assist the Board in the development of and to implement the strategic goals and objectives of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
To give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives.
Reports to: Board of Directors
Major Functions:
Event Planning . . . promote the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration as the World’s Greatest Horse Show and create a festival of events that create attendance and enthusiastic participation of horse enthusiasts and spectators alike. Build and promote additional horse shows and events throughout the year such as the Celebration Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show, Spring Fun Show and the Celebration Mule Show.
Corporate Sponsorship . . . develop, service and attract sponsor relationships to grow the revenue from the corporate sponsorship program at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. Establish new strategies to attract and reward new and current sponsors.
Show Manager . . . oversee operations and administration of the horse show and other events with integrity and efficiency to present a show and events that are dedicated to outstanding service to the exhibitor, owner, trainer and spectator.
Community Relations . . . assure the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to local community and throughout the country speaking at civic clubs, community events, etc., and generating a positive stream of news releases to media outlets.
Horse Industry Relations . . . represent the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration within the horse industry by attending horse shows and building relationships with owners, trainers and exhibitors, and generate a positive stream of news releases to horse industry outlets. Serves as liaison between the SHOW Horse Industry Organization President and the Celebration Board and offers Advice and counsel to SHOW and other HIOs as needed or requested by the board.
Government Relations . . . Represent the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration with the United States Department of Agriculture, key political allies in Washington, and representatives of the various industry organizations in key industry issues.
Program, Product and Service Delivery . . . oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of all programs and services throughout the year.
Human Resource Management . . . effectively manage the human resources of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management . . . recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
Board Administration and Support . . . support Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and administration of Board by advising and communications with Board members, interfacing between Board and staff.

Willing to Relocate to Shelbyville, Tenn.
