SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration was the subject of a program given at the Jackson Rotary Club on Tuesday, March 12.  Celebration Director of Public and Media Relations Chip Walters visited the 121-member group and spoke about the history of the event and its ties to local civic organizations.

“We’re proud of our relationship with the local civic clubs,” Walters told the group.  “Henry Davis and other Shelbyville civic club members were instrumental in starting the show.  Seventy years later, our civic clubs are still a vital part of the success of The Celebration.“

The program also featured more recent news regarding The Celebration and the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.

Jackson Rotarian Frank McMeen, Jr. arranged the program. He is the son of longtime trainer Frank McMeen of Columbia.
