Shelbyville, Tenn. - The Shelbyville Times-Gazette and Relish magazine will host the largest cooking demonstration and expo in middle Tennessee on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Calsonic Arena, Shelbyville.  Seating is limited to 750 attendees.

Relish chef Jon Ashton will be preparing an entire menu of dishes with more than a dash of humor, flair and helpful tips to help make cooking and eating easy, fun and healthy.

Jon Ashton is seen on the "Today Show" and is the food correspondent for the nationally syndicated morning show "The Daily Buzz".

At the expo, more than 30 local businesses will have show night specials, food samples and information on their offerings.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets must be pre-purchased, no tickets available at the door. Concessions will be available at the expo in addition to vendor food samples.

Dozens of door prizes will be given away throughout the show. Door prizes range from gift certificates and gift baskets to a diamond ring and a set of stainless steel cookware valued at $2,200.

Remaining general admission tickets are $10 available at the Times-Gazette office or by calling (931) 684-1200 weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A portion of the show proceeds will go to Great Strides Therapeutic Riding Program on behalf of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.

A canned good or non-perishable food item can be dropped at the entrance to the Cooking Show and Expo for the Good Samaritan food pantry which helps at-need families.
