Following the demonstrations of the Tennessee Walking Horses at the EquiFest of Kansas on February 24-26 2 at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, KS, positive reports were received from Ms. Judy Cloe of Equine Promotions and from Dr. Jan Haggard representing the Kansas Horse Council and member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners.

After the  Friday performance was misunderstood by some in attendance, Dr. Haggard and Dr. Kevin Hankin contacted Mrs. Carswell about the rules for exhibiting Park Performance horses.  What they saw was in Dr. Haggard’s words “legal acceptable and well cared for.” For the sessions on Saturday and Sunday, Mrs. Carswell was offered a microphone to explain to the spectators the shoeing regulations and action devices.  Ms. Cloe stated that the Saturday and Sunday exhibitions went very well with good crowds and high interest.

Dr. Haggard commented that Nicole, as representative of TWHBEA, did an “outstanding job.” “She was good, kind and straight-forward, and was an excellent representative of our horse industry.”
