Equine Death–Performing Art
Thursday, March 11, 2010
Performing Art, age 31, was laid to rest Sunday night, March 7, 2010 due to complications from colic. Art was owned by Cindy Sullivan of Shelbyville, Tenn., for the last 19 ½ years. Purchased in October of 1990 by Sullivan, she and Art showing in Florida for seven years and won first place almost every time they entered the ring. Art was the Florida State Amateur Champion several years in a row before he was retired and was ridden on trail rides for a couple of years.
Since then his life has been one of leisure, and he ran and played out in the pasture daily. He was laid to rest in front of the barn, buried next to his old companion Hooter the goat who died a couple of years ago. Art will be greatly missed but lived a wonderful love.
