Prism Sky, the 2005 Juvenile 12-17 Years Old World Grand Champion passed away Monday afternoon, December 8, 2008.  The talented gelding was purchased by What A Blessing Farms in 2004 from McJunkin Farms.  Herschel and Mary Ann Blessing purchased Prism Sky for their daughter, Mary Beth, to campaign in the juvenile division.

In 2004 Prism Sky took Mary Beth to a World Championship and then returned in 2005 to take her to both the World and World Grand Championship at the Celebration.  Over their career together, Blessing and Prism Sky captured 26 blue ribbons and 15 reserve finishes.

Prism Sky is by The Skywatch and out of Solidarity's Prism and had a successful amateur career with Ellen Sale before being purchased by Blessing and moved to Knox Blackburn Stables.  Blackburn, Blessing and Prism Sky won blue ribbons all across the show circuit and collected such honors as Horse of the Year, High Point champion and World Grand Champion.

The Blessing family had recently taken Prism Sky back to What A Blessing Farm in Bristol, Tenn. to be with their family.  "Prism brought our family some of our best memories and today is a very tough day for our family," said Herschel Blessing.  More information about the official cause of death will be made available in the next days.
