Fun In The Sun At WHOA-TWHBEA Camp

Fun In The Sun At WHOA-TWHBEA 11 & Under Youth Camp

Montverde, FL - The Youth 11 and Under portion of the 3rd Annual WHOA-TWHBEA Youth Camp at Montverde Academy was held June 10-13, 2009. The 14 day campers had a wonderful experience. Instructors Alice Klein and Carol Wakefield made the youngsters feel welcome and provided 4 days of excellent riding lessons using Montverde Academy Equestrian Center horses. On the final day, the riders participated in a camp horse show on the grounds of Montverde Academy with the Honorable Diane McMurtrey serving as the judge. This show gave the parents and grandparents a chance to see first hand how the participants had perfected their riding skills throughout the week. The campers were treated to the Arabian Knights Dinner Theater in Orlando on Friday night and saw the wonderful costumes and many different equine breeds this event has to offer. The local Leesburg, FL paper also visited during the camp and provided front page coverage in the local Saturday paper. WHOA Youth Coordinator Dee Dee Sale and WHOA Sales And Marketing Director Mark Taylor attended the camp along with Angie Hornaday and Harolene Willis who were kind enough to volunteer their time to help the instructors and to chaperone the kids. We appreciate Montverde Academy for hosting this event for the 3rd consecutive year and trainer Sara Womack for the excellent preparation of the Equestrian facility and for having the horses in great condition for the camp.
