LENOIR, N.C. - The 61st annual Lenoir Optimist Club Horse Show was held on Oct. 3 at the Lenoir Optimist Park in Lenior, N.C. The proceeds of this show are used to support a variety of club activities and programs. These programs are all youth-oriented activities ranging from football to supporting the Boys and Girls Home. Paul Livingston of Church Hill, Tenn., judged the 139 entries in the 30-class show.
The show ended on a high note with four worthy competitors entering the ring. Derek Monahan came from Virginia to make the winning ride on Grandé. Grandé is owned by Kevin and Betsy Johnson of Pickaway, W.Va. Threat’s Gold Dancer and Don Lominac earned the reserve ribbon for owner Les Auman.
