FRANKLIN, Tenn.— Following the TWHBEA Banquet, the entertainment began. The W.H.T.A. and Auxiliary planned a fun-filled evening for all. The Grand Prize Giveaway, the Whiskey Run Band, and the Beautyless Beauty Pageant were all on the schedule.
Jay Kenehan won the new truck in the Grand Prize Giveaway and kindly donated it back to the Trainers’ Association. They then auctioned it off and Joe Cotten and Katie Moore bought it. The crowd danced the night away to the sounds of the Whiskey Run Band.
The Beautyless Beauty Pageant was a sight to see. There were eight contestants of the walking horse industy’s finest young men competing as women to be the W.H.T.A. Auxiliary Beautyless Beauty Pageant Queen. Second runner-up went to Tim Smith, First runner-up went to Justin Harris and the Queen was Marty Irby. Smith and Harris received trophies while Irby won a sash, bouquet of roses, and a crown. Irby’s winning speech was priceless.
The evening was a success and everyone there had a wonderful time. It will be interesting to see what they plan for next year. It will be hard to top the Beautyless Beauty Pageant and last year’s Memories of Music.
