DICKSON, Tenn. - The annual Dickson Saddle and Bridle Club Horse Show was held on Thursday, July 25, 2002 as the start of the ever-popular Dickson, Lewisburg, and Pulaski weekend. Judging the 32 class event was Judy Martin, Shelbyville, Tennessee.

The show has adopted the popular MASCUP program. The Stake Class was included in the MASCUP program. Holding five talented entries was the MASCUP Aged Stallions and Geldings Stake class. Irrational Exuberance and Bill Young were crowned stake champions for Floyd Sherman. Barracuda and Jimmy McConnell chewed through the competition for the reserve for Mary Medina. The yellow ribbon was taken away by Neon Magic and Ray Gilmer for Morrison Farms.

Seven teams tried for the Weanling title. Ruby’s Prime Suspect and A.J. Jamison captured the title for A.J. and Sam Jamison. Generated Jump Start and Robert Nelms were reserve for Lockhart Farms. I’m A Dandy Too and Mackenzie Gaidos were led to the Lead Line, Riders 8 and Under title by Debbie Gaidos for Don Brown. Ace and Tyler Bailey were led to the red ribbon for Tyler and Kyle Bailey by Kim Bailey.

Major Heart Throb and Jackie McConnell were the major number one choice for the Two-Year-Old Mares and Geldings title for Floyd Sherman. Miss Glitzy Ritz and Herbert Derickson made the reserve ride for Dr. and Mrs. John Brundige. The Country Pleasure class held nineteen entries. Olympic Angel and Anna Hamilton made the winning ride for Marilyn Staley Friedman. Our Prime Royal and B.J. Richards were reserve. Richards owns the reserve winner.

Mr. Jose’ Again and Bill Beech made the victory pass in the Yearling Colt division for the Ray Beech family. Fire In Dixie and Lynn MacGregor were reserve for Judy Moore-Foust. A Touch Of Jazz and Carlyle Johnson seem to have the blue ribbon touch this season as they captured yet another Yearling Fillies title for proud owners Vicki and Fred Benjamin. Kodachrome’s Annie Oakley and Bobby Richards were reserve for Larry and Susan Wood.

The Two-Year-Old Amateur Stallion division held ten entries. Spun’s Sho-nuff and Whitney Davis made the winning ride. Davis owns the entry. Uncle Kracker and Jeff Mitchell were reserve in the good class. Mitchell also owns the entry. I’m Causin’ Commotion and Debbie Myers caused their commotion to win the Two-Year-Old Amateur Mares and Geldings division for Jim and Debbie Myers. Armed With Major Success and Julie Grider were armed with the reserve tie for the Tommy Grider family.

Flashy Cash and Lindsey Wall cashed in on the Juvenile 11 and Under Specialty class for the Mike Wall family. Eb’s Final Notice and Treeah Majors were reserve for McDonald Farm. Tenderoni and Jimmy McConnell cruised on in to the winner’s circle for Edith Dilday in the Three-Year-Old Mares and Geldings. Unthinkable and John Allan Callaway were reserve for Carrell Mullins.

Obsessing over a blue ribbon tie was Calvin Klein’s Obsession and Howard Hamilton for Mr. and Mrs. Rick Paschal. Willie Bean and Ray Tidwell were reserve for Dale Burridge. In the Ladies Amateur division, City Hall and Kay Neely cashed in on top honors for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Neely. A and D’s Spirit’s Delight and Hazel Jackson made the reserve ride for Wesley and Hazel Jackson.

In the Ladies Amateur Specialty division, Pusher's Solid Design and Kelly Sherman Garrett topped the class of seven entries for Floyd Sherman. Gen On The Rocks and George Ann Pratt were reserve for Don Pratt. Hytone's Buster Brown and Tyler Herndon busted through the Juvenile 12-17 Specialty competition to claim the title for Tim Herndon. She's Armed and Maria Derickson were reserve for Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Etheredge.

In Cahoots and Karen Marriott took home top honors in the Three-Year-Old Amateur Stallion division for Sean Schaffer. Major Gee Whiz and Bobbie Gerhardt were reserve for Jim and Bonnie Gerhardt. Bella Rose and Julie Grider made a beautiful performance for the Three-Year-Old Amateur Mares and Geldings title for the Tommy Grider family. Anita Blue and Anita George walked away with the red ribbon for Doyle Wayne and Anita George.

Czar's High Tide and Knox Blackburn soared to the top of the Show Pleasure Open Specialty class for B.J. Harris. The Great Escape and Ray Gilmer made the reserve ride for Paula Sanders. The Prime Suspect and John Allan Callaway were the prime choice for the Four-Year-Old and Over Mares and Geldings blue for Charles and Florence Terry. The Key To My Heart and Brock Tillman were reserve for Black Hawk Farm.

Making a sharp show to the 15.2 and Under Amateur Specialty blue was Gen's Sharp Dressed Man and Jim Moon for Mr. and Mrs. Jim Moon. Reserve in the good class was Immortal Generator and Keith Baker for Keith and Sandy Baker. JFK, Jr. and Dan Waddell made the winning ride in the Two and Three-Year-Old Park Pleasure Open division for Bob Medina. JFK's Blessed Heart and Tommy Loid were reserve for Larry and Barbara Selks.

It was no secret that Secret Sky and Jimmy McConnell soared to the MASCUP Three-Year-Old Stallion Classic blue for Royal Oak Farm. The Santini and Brock Tillman were reserve for Black Hawk Farm. In the Amateur Owned and Trained division, P.J.'s Commander and Chief and Newton Parks claimed the blue for the Parks and Rogers ownership. The Bold Stroke and David Hendricks strolled to the red banner. Hendricks owns the entry.

Not only was it hot competition, it was Hot Jazz and Kelly Sherman Garrett topping the Four-Year-Old Amateur Mares and Geldings division for Floyd Sherman. Spirit's Razzle Dazzle and David Williams were reserve for Black Hawk Farm. General MacArthur and Brock Tillman took command of the MASCUP Two-Year-Old Stallion Classic for Black Hawk Farm. Major Event and Jackie McConnell made a major show to the red ribbon for John Alford.

Soaring to the Walking Pony Specialty blue was Skywalk and Seth Stanfill for Billy Stanfill. Favorite's Stone Cold and Lee Lunsford made a good ride to reserve for the Gary Lunsford family. The multi-titled, Pusher's Benny Boy claimed the Park Pleasure Open tie with Jimmy Norris in the irons for Pollack's Silver Spur Ranch. Mystery Woman and Jimmy McConnell were reserve for Mr. and Mrs. Mack Chandler. I'm A Five Star General and Jimmy McConnell commanded the Four-Year-Old Stallion title for Mr. and Mrs. Odell McConnell. John Orlando and Justin Jenne were reserve champions for Sweet Revenge Stables.

Pride's Pickle and Abby Graves had the competition by the horns as they rode to the Amateur Specialty title. Graves owns the entry. A Major Masterpiece and Junior Walker made the good ride to reserve for Black Gold Farm. In a back-to-back blue ribbon performance, Abby Graves returned to the winner's circle in the Four-Year-Old Amateur Stallions class aboard Silver Dollar Make Me Hollar to claim the blue. Graves owns this champion as well. Lady With Class and Todd Smith took the blue in the 15.2 and Under Open division for Jeff Mitchell.
