GLASGOW, Ky. - The residents and staff of Glasgow State Nursing Facility were entertained on Thursday, May 28, 2009, by J&H Stables of Russell Springs, Ky. The skies cleared and all were blessed by the event. Smoke N’ Cash and Shock N’Yall, 2008 reserve world champions, were exhibited by owner Charles Marshall Stivers. Karen Rector exhibited Who Am I, a 2006 and 2008 world champion. Rector serves the facility in a guardianship capacity. A two-year-old mare, Nine Plus, and recent Greensburg champion, owned by Marlene Handy, was ridden to the delight of the group by Jeremy Lamb. Danny Hughes exhibited C. Howitt Fields, a talented three-year-old stallion owned by Al Lenardon.

Margaret Coy, long time J&H customer came to support the barn and assisted with announcing the horses. Some of the residents had attended county horse shows in the past and were very familiar with Tennessee Walking Horses and shared interesting stories about walking horse legends, such as Sam Paschall, C.A. Bobo and Claude Brown. Everyone enjoyed watching Danny Hughes feed the horses a treat after their grand performance.

Once again, the Tennessee Walking Horse serves as a great ambassador, and thanks to Danny and Jason Hughes for their efforts in providing people with disabilities the opportunity to watch these beautiful and talented horses.
