Equestrian associations are flourishing in the United States. According to Equus magazine, the largest membership (almost 78,000) belongs to USA Equestrian (formerly known as the American Horse Shows Association), the umbrella group that coordinates thousands of horse shows around the country. The next biggest association is the U.S. Dressage Federation at more than 42,000 members.
