SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration announced it’s judging panel for the 38th Annual Spring Fun Show on Tuesday.  The list is comprised of three respected members of the walking horse community.

Gene “Smokey” Carswell of Morehead, Ky., Jennifer Bingham Davis of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Mike McCormick of Shelbyville, Tenn. have been selected to adjudicate the proceedings at this year’s Spring Fun Show.

Both Carswell and McCormick have experience in the Fun Show, but it will be the first Fun Show assignment for Davis.  Carswell judged the Fun Show in 1994 and 1998 while McCormick was in center ring for the spring event in 1996.  Carswell has also been a member of The Celebration® judging panel on three occasions (1995, 2000, 2003)

“I’m very happy with the group we have been able to put together for this year’s show,” said Celebration CEO and show manager Dr. Doyle Meadows.  “We’ve had a good deal of input from industry professionals and the individuals selected were names we kept hearing.”

“It was important for us to get a good mix of experience levels,” said Meadows.  “The bottom line is that I expect this group to do a great job working together to make sure the best horse in each class is rewarded for their efforts.”

The 2008 Spring Fun Show will feature 48 classes this year.  A full schedule of classes is available on The Celebration website (www.twhnc.com).

The Celebration Spring Fun Show is scheduled for May 22-24 at Calsonic Arena on The Historic Celebration Grounds in Shelbyville.
