Judges Named For 2009 Fun Show
Tuesday, April 14, 2009
SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration announced its judging panel for the 39th Annual Spring Fun Show on Tuesday. The list is comprised of three respected members of the walking horse community.
Spencer Benedict of Glasgow, Ky., Bobby Richards of Franklin, Tn. and Billy Young of Tucson, Az. have been selected to adjudicate the proceedings at this year’s Spring Fun Show.
All three judges have experience in the Fun Show. Benedict judged the show in 1998 while Richards was in center ring for the spring event in 2002. Young has the most experience in center ring at the Fun Show having judged the event in 1990 and 1995.
“I’m very happy with the panel we have been able to put together for this year’s show,” said Celebration CEO and show manager Dr. Doyle Meadows. “I expect this group to do a great job working together to make sure the best horse in each class is rewarded for their efforts,” continued Meadows. “We are anticipating another good show at this year’s event.”
The 2009 Spring Fun Show will feature 47 classes this year. A full schedule of classes is available on The Celebration website (www.twhnc.com).
The Celebration Spring Fun Show is scheduled for May 21-23 in the Outdoor Arena on The Historic Celebration Grounds in Shelbyville. Classes are set to begin at 6:00 p.m. each evening.
