Dear Members:

A special thank you all of our hard working staff, EC, and International Board Members for their hard work this year and especially this week! We have an amazing group of people who truly love and care about our horse!

The following Motions/Items Are The Highlights of this week:

1- TWHBEA Reached its 10,000 Member goal ending the week at 10,142!

2- The International Board gave permission to enter into a 3-5 year contract to help reduce the cost of DNA. The contract is to be worked out with Kentucky.

3- A new revenue stream & membership benefit was added at TWHBEA. Name Reservations! Its a bit like domain names and its fun! $30 will reserve your name for 1 year. You get 30 days prior notice of expiration of the name and a 30 day grace period to keep the name. Its $30 to transfer and sell a name and $30 a year to renew it.

4- The Horse Show Division Committed to Establishing a World or International High Point program at TWHBEA. It is the #1 focus of the committee this year.

5- Motion was passed by International Board to study the possibility of an appendix to the registry or "half breed" registry under TWHBEA. We will study and follow up in December.

6- Motion was made by Enforcement VP Mike Hicks and passed by International Board that TWHBEA move forward in establishing a comprehensive/universal judging system and rule book! We will be taking many steps in the near future to make it happen! Judging & Rulebook will be placed under the Enforcement Division headed by Vice-President Mike Hicks.

7- Motion was made by Performance VP Tom KaKassy, passed by Performance Committee, then Passed by EC, then passed by International Board "That the Association initiate, and collaborate in agenda creation for, an industry conference with all HIOs and other industry organizations, for the purpose of planning for, and reacting to the proposed USDA regs.

8- Motion was made by Performance VP Tom KaKassy, passed by Performance Committee, then Passed by EC, then passed by International Board "That the Association assemble a proposal for industry and USDA participation in further scientific study regarding callus formation, the effects of action devices, and the promotion of uniformity in palpation techniques.

There were many other great and productive topics of discussion. These are the highlights of my notes! TWHBEA is headed in the right direction and leading the way! Our goal by December Meeting is 11,000 Members! Still Climbing!
