Major Gee Whiz and Gary Martin Take Home South Congaree Title

SOUTH CONGAREE, S.C. - The 12th annual Camps Kemo, Courage and Happy Days Horse Show was held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the South Congaree Arena in South Congaree, S.C. The show was sponsored by the South Carolina Pest Control Association. This was an all breed show that started at 10 a.m. with the walking horse classes ending the show and starting at 5 p.m. There were 64 classes, 29 of them being walking divisions. The walking judge was Steve Beam from Arab, Ala.
Martin Training Center took home the most wins and won the blue ribbon tally with eight. Kathy Jamison and Jackie Fisher had four blues. Stan Tindal Stables picked up three wins and Allen Forman, Laura Mauney and Meme Anderson had dual blues.
The Walking Horse Championship had three fine entries vying for the roses. Major Gee Whiz and Gary Martin earned top honors for Paul Simmons of Orangeburg, S.C. Pushover’s My Papa and Sam Martin were reserve in the good class for Larry McLaughlin. Thief N Da Skies and Toni Strickland received the yellow streamer for Joe Burton.
