National Trainers' Show To Award 5X Riders' Cup Points

The 2012 Walking Horse Trainers’ Association (WHTA) National Trainers’ Show will be the first show in the history of the Riders’ Cup program to award 5X Riders’ Cup points.  The National Trainers’ Show has historically offered triple-points and originally was the only triple-show.  In recent years, The Celebration, Spring Fun Show, Delta Fall Classic and East Tennessee Fall Classic have sponsored the program and had their horse shows triple-points.

The intent of the Riders’ Cup program has always been to award the most number of points to the National Trainers’ Show, as it is the show of the WHTA.  The Riders’ Cup Committee consisting of Chad Williams, Chairman, Charlie Green, Larry Wheelon, Edgar Abernathy and John Allan Callaway met on January 18, 2012 and made the decision.

Sponsorships in the program are very popular and new divisions are being added to accommodate new sponsors.  The list of sponsors for 2012 is being finalized and will be published in the near future.  For more information on how to sponsor the Riders’ Cup contact Marcia Allison at 931-684-5866.

The 2012 National Trainers’ Show will be held April 12-14, 2012 in White Pine, Tenn.
